Liberia’s capital, Monrovia, is scarred by 14 years of civil war. Bullet holes riddle the fabric of the city.
Oxfam’s project will contibute to a reduction in public health risks for up to 45,000 conflict displaced people in temporary centres around Monrovia. Over 100,000 persons have been displaced from IDP camps and communities in Western Monrovia in communities including schools, churches and sporting facilities. Funds will be used to construct latrines, provide water and collection containers and facilitate hygiene promotion activities.
