Oxfam WASH team responding in Mountaincut community which is located in eastern part of Freetown. 

The community was affected by flooding and initial assessment revealed that all water points were destroyed by flood water and the drainage channel that runs across the entire community was blocked by debris. Oxfam implement a cash for work scheme within the community to ensure that all debris is cleared to avoid future flooding and also mitigate risk of potential public health outbreaks.

Oxfam is installing 2 water tanks (5000 liters) at Mountaincut to provide immediate safe water supply to 77 households (539 people).
Oxfam as lead agency of Freetown WASH Consortium is implementing WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) response interventions in affected communities The response is funded by DFID.
