After the floods destroyed Ali Hassan’s home and land last July his family have been left with no where to live and no means to earn a living.

“You see, I am living in a tent. Before the floods I was very happy. I worked on the land, I produced rice and wheat, I was cultivating and harvesting and I got enough money to survive. We all had mud houses in the village and I had a house with 4 rooms.” says Hassan

When the floods came, Ali Hassan and his family fled their village and lived in a camp for several months. In January when they returned they discovered their house and fields had been destroyed by the water.

“When we reached home we saw only government buildings there, our mud houses were gone. There was no shelter or food to survive and there was cold weather.”
