For the second year in a row, through the PINKO Take Care of Christmas project, a dedicated partnership will provide solar-powered light at night to areas affected by emergencies, guaranteeing safety and promoting a bright future.

Each day, whole communities suffer without light. Without light, education levels drop, daytime work hours are reduced, and caring for children, the sick and the elderly becomes more complicated.

Lights and solar panels enable us to illuminate common areas and, therefore, ensure that the most vulnerable people in society, such as women, the elderly, and children are protected.

For each purchase made between 12 December and Christmas Day, PINKO will provide night-time light to ensure safety and promote a bright future.

Oxfam is working in Malawi and Madagascar to improve urban resilience to catastrophic natural events. Here, thanks in part to the contribution of the PINKO Take Care project, we will be able to provide solar panels that give shelters light and personal solar lights able to protect up to 1000 people. When not being used during emergencies, shelters provided by Oxfam become places of learning for women and young people, enabling them to strive for a brighter future.

From 12 to 25 December 2022, PINKO will donate €5 to Oxfam for every receipt made worldwide in direct physical channels (Retail/Retail Department/Travel/Outlet) and Ecommerce, up to the amount of €20,000.

To mark Mother’s Day in May 2022, Oxfam, together with PINKO, helped 125 mothers in Malawi, who were given essential goods and food to allow them to take care of their children properly.

Guaranteeing safe water for all: the goal established by PINKO and Oxfam in 2021.

Thanks to this partnership, PINKO was able to give 12,000 families in countries stricken by emergencies a total of 6 million litres of safe water.

Worldwide, 1 in 3 people have no access to clean water, and more than 1 in 2 (around 4.2 billion people) are forced to live without adequate sanitary facilities. Water shortages kill more than 830,000 people every year, who are forced to drink and wash with dirty or contaminated water, with 297,000 children under the age of 5—800 a day—succumbing to diseases and epidemics.

Oxfam, a world leader in bringing clean water to places affected by emergencies, was also able to support the most vulnerable people in society with the proceeds of the charitable #PINKOTakeCareOfChristmas initiative set up to support those in need. Also in 2021, based on the number of receipts issues during the Christmas season, Pinko decided to donate safe water, entrusting Oxfam to distribute it to those in need.
