In 2012 Oxfam Italia supported the design of the first comprehensive Travel Guide with navigation for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) through the project “Support to Creation and Promotion of Environmental and Sustainable Tourist Itineraries”. The Guide was created with an aim to promote the eco tourism in BiH, with the special emphasis on the valleys of rivers Una, Sana, Drina and Neretva.

The Guide contains many known and less known points of interest (POI) in BiH, which are divided in six main categories:

• Attractions
• Food/Drinks
• Accommodation
• Events
• When visiting
• Tourist agencies

Each point of interest  contains short description, with photos, web locations, contacts and more. Points of interest also can be saved as favourites, to make them easy to access.

The Guide through Bosnia and Herzegovina provides the choice of three navigation modes: compass, map and instructions. Compass function helps find locations off-line, saving costs on roaming.

Information section contains important information on:
• Automatic teller machines (ATM)
• Petrol stations
• Weather
• Important telephone numbers (police, firemen, emergency, road assistance, bus stops, information on airports)
• Project supporting the development of application.

This travel Guide is regularly updated and is an ideal information source to assist travellers to plan and enjoy the trip through Bosnia and Herzegovina, a wonderful unexplored country. Soon it will contain more information on new members of the vine route Herzegovina, also supported by Oxfam Italia.
