Name of the organization: Medical Rescue Association of Turkiye
Title of the project: Digital Health Solutions for Refugees’ Access to Health
Date of the update: 21.10.2024
The Medical Rescue Association (MEDAK), founded in 2013, focuses on providing critical healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Following the February 2023 earthquakes in Turkey, which affected over 9 million people, MEDAK intensified efforts to meet the urgent health needs of displaced individuals, particularly women and children.
In collaboration with HERA, a digital health platform, MEDAK uses innovative solutions like mobile apps and chatbots to increase access to essential healthcare services, especially sexual and reproductive health.
The HERA App, available in multiple languages, enables users to track appointments, locate nearby health centers, and access emergency services. Through these technological interventions and community outreach initiatives, MEDAK continues to address the healthcare needs of those most affected by the disaster.
