Do you have experience in representation and networking, in particular with Governments, humanitarian and development actors and donors?

If the answer is yes, then we would like to hear from you.

The Role

Oxfam Italia in partnership with Right to Play, SHiFT and ALEF is implementing a European Union-funded project entitled “Working for Engagement, Acceptance and Mediation: A Community-based Approach to Social Cohesion in Lebanon – WE’AM.” The project is implemented between March 2023 and December 2025 in Lebanon. WE’AM aims to leverage experiences and complementarities to build consensus and stimulate lasting social cohesion initiatives in Lebanon following three working streams: addressing drivers of tensions at the community level; disseminating gender-responsive conflict prevention and resolution tools and methods; mainstreaming community-level social cohesion into programming.

Under the supervision of the Project Steering Committee, and in close coordination with Oxfam’s Office in Lebanon, the Consortium Coordinator (CC) is responsible for providing vision, leadership and direction to the Consortium and its activities. S/he will supervise project implementation and ensure the project meets stated goals. The CC will ensure the consortium has a coherent strategy that responds to the requirements of people the project intends to support. Furthermore, the CC will take a leadership role in coordination and advocacy among donors, key stakeholders and implementing partners. The CC position requires diplomacy and ability to advocate on behalf and represent a coalition of partners.

Furthermore, the CC will lead on coordination and management of the Consortium ensuring synergies and strategy alignment is maintained across the consortium. The CC will coordinate the day-to-day programmatic coordination and grant management function for the Oxfam Italia’s component. The CC is accountable to the Steering Committee and coordinates with the senior management teams of each agency.

The CC is expected to work closely with the Governance and Economic Justice programme team and the Oxfam Policy team towards common objectives.

About us

Oxfam is a global community who believe poverty isn’t inevitable. It’s an injustice that can be overcome. We are shop volunteers, women’s right activists, marathon runners, aid workers, coffee farmers, street fundraisers, goat herders, policy experts, campaigners, water engineers and more. And we won’t stop until everyone can live life without poverty for good.

Oxfam is a member of international confederation of 21 organisations working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.

A thriving diverse Oxfam:

It’s people power that brings about change. To play our part as a global organisation working to overcome poverty and inequality, we need equality, diversity and inclusion across our community of staff, partners and volunteers. Together, we’re committed to becoming a more diverse workforce, better able to tackle the global challenges that face our world today.

 To do that:

  • We need to dismantle the unequal power structures that exist everywhere, this including Oxfam and the wider development and charity sectors.
  • We need an inclusive Oxfam where everyone can bring who they are to our work and feels celebrated for the differences they bring.
  • We want and need everyone, and that means we need you.

In response to Covid-19 if you are offered a role where you are required to travel between countries please ensure you have been briefed by the Hiring Manager about any changes to working or precautions you should take as part of your role.
